When a Student Teaches

my former student teaching my present students how to draw anime

J was my student four years ago. We were both newbies at the institution. I was a new teacher, and he was a new student, coming all the way from one of the provinces in the Southern part of Luzon. Masipag, mabait, matalino, tahimik, magaling sa arts. He was an instant favorite among us, teachers. Later on, he was also into football. Buwis-buhay siya kung mag-goalie.

Yesterday, I let him teach my students how to draw anime/manga faces for our work ed class (I've given him references weeks before, and gave him a structure for his drawing lesson). He was their "Kuya J," as he is now in technical-vocational level in our school, while my students are just in the Grade 5/6 equivalent.

After that, I gave J the binder + sketchbook na free dun sa drawing book na binili ko.

Mahirap daw palang maging teacher. Sagot ko, oo naman.
